GJ to the top 100 scores , have fun with teh beetle

I tried it for 5 mins and didn't really enjoy it much , managed a 440k with about 327 Kds and random key mashing though

Pity about all the whining losers though , shame that so many are so blind to the fact that some people are just bloody good at some things.

i just see where i did my misakes now, otherwise i would be on a ladder myself too(i used water

, but got 3x SRB + 1x echo in one battle, but there was lagg and i used water :s)

Grats, I got fed up after 2 races with all the rubber banding, people pointlessly KD'ing me and some eejit who decided to randomly spout "LAWL QQ MAOR NUBCAKES!" after winning...
Must take a heck of a lot of patience to get on the top 100.

Oh snap. Hmm. I had a prize last year under the character name (Ekelon Mist). This year my prize was under the character name (X Ekelon X). So, maybe it had to be same character name? I'll edit my top thread with this problem.

It's ridiculous to be complaining at Yuri and other racers for having multiple scores in the top 100. They didn't design the rank system, they're just good at Rollerbeetle Racing. Congratulations to the winners.

... that said, I'm not sure how ANet thinks it's realistic to have a ranking system where the top players are rewarded, but it's possible to have all the top players be the same person.

i do hope that anet fixes the whole top 100 thing next time, but i harbor no resentment for the people that won, they obviously figured out a way to win. i was with a guy when he got 479, and i have no idea how he did it because he was way ahead of us all super fast.

o.O I am a whining loser, sorry.

From 3 pm friday to 1 am saturday i did NOTHING but beetle race. Then played a few hours saturday and sunday.

i didn't come within 15,000 of the lowest top 100. All i got out of the entire thing was 500+ gamer points (jerking off motion as he doesnt give two craps about that), 400 something tokens which NONE of them gave me a rat after getting fortunes, and 4k balth faction....woo...some great game anet.

even after multiple 4+ consecutive win streaks that doesnt mean jack crap to me, all i wanted was the beetle and i tried SO HARD FOR SO LONG. Heck the rewards for consecutives wins don't even get better either.

anyone up for sharing tips? you guys have one now so fess up you don't need another.

same here LOL, got a screen of my 473 too, but no top 100. however it was hella fun to me, and i learned alot from friends that how to use the dash/ram at the perfect time. next event, see me on top 100

Theres definitely tricks to the trade, i started out really shit not even noticing rpm and loosing everything unless i got lucky. Unfortunately this wasn't cutting it as i was ment to be working on the gamer title.

After reading the "omg cheaters" thread on guru, i started thinking about what i was doing a lot more i started: avoiding water,watching RPM, skipping boxes to get round some corners quicker. Nowhere near top 100 but i could get 1500 without superbeetle which was enough to get first in 50% of matches.

Theres a lot more depth to the art of rollerbeetle than you might think :P
My highest was only 162k but i will discover all the tricks one day

Just letting everyone know...

This friday (15th of Feb. ) Will be the 'official' time for our meeting. At first, PM's will go to ANY one with a beetle. We will all meet, then decide where to go next. If we want it to be secluded for top 100 only, or if we want to go to a public place maybe international kamadan district...

I hope to get somemore people signed up!

It's weird, though, that none of them provides any video or writes any guide to how to do it. I mean, people will produce farming guides and farming videos at the drop of a hat.

Why share trade secrets that would hinder the chances of getting more minis? It's not like CoF or a farming area that can be exploited and everyone gets something out of it, it's a competition.

This is the same thing like a farming area. The only difference is we're talking about farming something... that only a number of people can get. It's like if you were to farm ectos, sure why shouldn't everybody know? But then you say there are only 100 ectos and once those ectos are farmed there are no more ectos. Obviously, you wouldn't tell anybody how to farm them because you want the ecto for youself... This is human nature and don't expect otherwise.

@wick, keep in mind we can only get 20 people. cuz only 20 ppl can whip out minis in a single town or outpose or guild hall.
